U.S. Sony Store has Sony Xperia Z for sale

The phone that caught the biggest buzz at CES this year was the Sony Xperia Z. Waterproof and dustproof, the Android flavored flagship model can now be bought in the states online from the Sony Store U.S. website. The price of the phone is $629.99 and the device starts shipping on Tuesday. Did we mention that there is free 2 day shipping?

The Sony Xperia Z is now available from Sony's U.S. online store

We're sorry to have to tell you, but this is the variant of the Sony Xperia Z (C6602) without 4G LTE connectivity. Yeah, we're sorry too. The phone will hook up to the HSPA+ pipeline belonging to AT&T and T-Mobile. Eventually, T-Mobile is expected to get an exclusive on the LTE enabled version of the phone.

If LTE is a deal breaker for you, you can take advantage of the price cut that Sony has just instituted on the Sony Xperia ZL. Although it does not feature the water and dust proofing, it is the most compact of the 5 inch FHD handsets meaning that the screen covers 75% of the phone's front surface. With a price cut from $759.99 to $629.99, the Sony Xperia ZL is compatible with some North American LTE bands. Right now, the model is available directly from Sony in red only, with both the black and white versions expected later. But online retailer Newegg not only is selling the Sony Xperia ZL for $20 cheaper, it also has all three colors available now.
